DH Film: Fur Elise

What's this? I drew a non-book Ron/Hermione moment?! Has the apocalypse also arrived?

Yes, I jumped on the bandwagon and drew a Ron/Herm scene directly from the film. I usually don't do this for two reasons. One, I don't agree with the portrayal in films, and two, whenever something has already been made visual it's hard to put your own spin on the idea, so you end up with a drawing that looks identical to the scene, just in your own style. This is why I prefer illustrating words rather than pictures, words allow you to imagine for yourself. It's far more satisfying, and a lot less bias as you are not influenced by anyone else's interpretation.

However, I've made an exception for a few scenes in The Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

This scene in particular I drew because it's very cute and it invoked nostalgic emotions in me making me enjoy the scene a lot more.
You see the song used is, as you all probably know, Ludwig van Beethoven's Für Elise. I have grown up listening to this composition because it was my Grandma's and my Mum's favourite. My Mum often plays it on the piano at home, and it was the first piano piece of music she taught me. I think she likes it so much because of my Grandma, her Mum. My Grandma died when I was two, so I don't remember much about her but what I do remember is her obsession with giving out chocolate and her love of this piece of music. Funnily enough part of the reason she loved it is because it's called Für Elise and her name was Elise.
I digress, what I'm trying to say is I thoroughly enjoyed this scene. It brought back fond memories for me and made me feel all warm and gooey inside.



I didn't want to colour it too much because it would ruin the atmosphere so I kept the colouring pretty minimal and soft. I hope it worked out okay.
